Business communication spending to reach $377 billion

There is very little that is more important to a company’s success than its ability to communicate. Stalls in data sharing can be costly. In the days of instant information, any delay in decision making can put a business behind the competition. This concept has reached such a point, that according to a report from Infonetics Research, over the next four years, global spending on VoIP services is predicted to reach $377 billion.

At the beginning of October in Austin, Texas, the 2012 ITEXPO was held and it shined a light on the current state of the VoIP and unified communication (UC) industry. Robbie Pleasant, a contributor for TMCnet, recapped the event in a new article.

“There are some key benefits to unified communications, such as improved productivity and availability, and an improved speed for communications across businesses and employee access to information,” wrote Pleasant. “However, as those are not monetary results (although they can translate into improved profits), the benefits of UC are viewed in terms of productivity rather than money.”

Pleasant went on to say that it is clear that the UC market is growing and that the future could focus on vertical markets as well as horizontal ones and hosted and cloud solutions will get more play from small and midsized businesses (SMBs). Mobile devices could also surpass desktop phones.

The importance of daily communication in the era of instant knowledge solidifies the reason that the VoIP and UC markets are growing worldwide. As technology continues to advance, businesses will find an increasing number of tools at their disposal. Companies in Ohio that are looking improve its telecommunication strategy would be wise to partner with an IT consulting firm.
