Cloud security platform investment on the rise

When it comes to cloud computing, many organizations are now well aware of what it is capable of. However, as the technology knowledge base has expanded, many businesses are starting to move more critical operations into the digital landscape. This includes those that were considered to be main concerns of the technology.

According to a recent article from CIO, cloud-based IT security platforms are gearing up for a massive explosion when it comes to enterprise adoption.

"People have become more comfortable now with the cloud so they're feeling more comfortable leveraging certain cloud services for security," Brian Contos, CISO for Blue Coat, a web filter appliance company, told the news source.

A study by Gartner cited in the article found that the investment in cloud-based security services will increase by $1 billion over the next two years topping out at $3.1 billion in 2015. Another study by Infonetics Research is expecting a similar positive increase with a compounded annual growth rate of 10.8 percent over the next few years until it reaches $9.2 billion.

This is all being pushed because of the increased use of the cloud across the board when it comes to enterprise IT solutions. With more business critical information finding its way into the cloud, the only way to properly manage this platform is with a cloud-based security strategy that can optimize the platform.

With the help of an IT support firm that specializes in cloud consulting services, any organization can easily start moving into the future and have a cloud-based infrastructure.
