Conference call service provider Powwownow released a new survey about employers feelings toward UC benefits. According to 57 percent of employers polled think a UC option will reduce costs in the long run and dramatically increase productivity.

"Times are changing and today's workforce has to adapt in order to stay ahead," said Powwownow CEO Simon Curry in the release. "We have an abundance of technology at our fingertips and UC will only make it easier now for businesses to streamline communications and in turn be in a better position to service customers. UC is on its way to becoming an integral cog in the way businesses communicate; it's up to us not to resist."

The ability to have centralized communication tools is attractive to many companies. According to respondents, 54 percent of managers believe workflow could be simpler with all communication systems under one roof. Businesses also see how a UC option relates to the growing trend of remote and flexible working options as 64 percent already have these policies in place.
