Research and Markets has released the results of a new study looking into the future of VoIP phone services. According to the forecast, the fixed VoIP market in the U.S. will experience a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.15 percent over the period of 2012 through 2016. One of the biggest reasons for this will be the availability of next-generation infrastructures that are needed to support a quality phone service.

''The Fixed Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Services market in the U.S. is witnessing an increasing number of fixed telephone subscribers switching to fixed VoIP services," the report reads. "Since telephone communication service providers offer fixed VoIP services, consumers are switching to VoIP services offered by them."

The report added that the a large number of customers are asking about making the shift to a business VoIP service. This is helping push the growing market of the internet phone market in the U.S.

The report also mentions that many service providers are starting to invest more in the next-generation of infrastructure and higher quality internet services – which is a key component to having a quality VoIP service.
