Unified communication solutions need partner for full potential

Unified communication (UC) options are a growing industry but just because a company has implemented one, doesn't mean they are getting the most out of it. As technology evolves, there are a number of new programs that can be integrated into a UC solutions that can tap into the systems full potential.

A new article by Kelly Teal for ChannelPartners looks into the effect of a strong partnership between a UC solution and other business software.

"Unified communications does not, by itself, fix problems," Teal wrote. "Just because your customers' employees can click-to-call or get voicemail as email doesn't mean they're getting the most out of UC. The real aim of UC is to help companies operate more smoothly and with greater productivity."

She goes on to talk about the importance of pairing a UC option with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms. By themselves, each of the systems works well, but together, they add a whole new level of efficiency. When a business can mirror its UC system with a CRM or ERP solution, data is shared quicker and more accurately.

Integration is not just important from a customer standpoint but can also be internal with social media. Keeping employees connected in a more light-hearted way can help increase productivity and adds a level of gamification to the workplace.
